Optimal placement of wind turbines within a wind farm considering multi-directional wind speed using

A.S.O. OGUNJUYIGBE, T.R. AYODELE, O.D. BAMGBOJE

Frontiers in Energy 2021, Volume 15, Issue 1,   Pages 240-255 doi: 10.1007/s11708-018-0514-x

Abstract: Most wind turbines within wind farms are set up to face a pre-determined wind direction. However, wind directions are intermittent in nature, leading to less electricity production capacity. This paper proposes an algorithm to solve the wind farm layout optimization problem considering multi-angular (MA) wind direction with the aim of maximizing the total power generated on wind farms and minimizing the cost of installation. A two-stage genetic algorithm (GA) equipped with complementary sampling and uniform crossover is used to evolve a MA layout that will yield optimal output regardless of the wind direction. In the first stage, the optimal wind turbine layouts for 8 different major wind directions were determined while the second stage allows each of the previously determined layouts to compete and inter-breed so as to evolve an optimal MA wind farm layout. The proposed MA wind farm layout is thereafter compared to other layouts whose turbines have focused site specific wind turbine orientation. The results reveal that the proposed wind farm layout improves wind power production capacity with minimum cost of installation compared to the layouts with site specific wind turbine layouts. This paper will find application at the planning stage of wind farm.

L. RAMESH, N. CHAKRABORTY, S. P. CHOWDHURY

Frontiers in Energy 2012, Volume 6, Issue 1,   Pages 47-56 doi: 10.1007/s11708-011-0159-5

Abstract: The advancement in power distribution system poses a great challenge to power engineering researchers on how to best monitor and estimate the state of the distribution network. This paper is executed in two stage processes. The first stage is to identify the optimal location for installation of monitoring instrument with minimal investment cost. The second stage is to estimate the bus voltage magnitude, where real time measurement is conducted and measured through identified meter location which is more essential for decision making in distribution supervisory control and data acquisition system (DSCADA). The hybrid intelligent technique is applied to execute the above two algorithms. The algorithms are tested with institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) and Tamil Nadu electricity board (TNEB) benchmark systems. The simulated results proves that the swarm tuned artificial neural network (ANN) estimator is best suited for accurate estimation of voltage with different noise levels.

Yin Yong,Li Chengming,Ding Shengtao

Strategic Study of CAE 2013, Volume 15, Issue 5,   Pages 30-36

Abstract:

This paper discussed several key problems in the automatic annotation of linear elements, proposed to calculate the positioning line of a linear element using reference annotation line and to achieve dynamic segmentation of reference annotation line using reverse Douglas algorithm, using the segmentation result to choose smooth parts of linear elements as candidate annotation positions. On this basis, get the candidate position and score for every letter, then resolve the conflicts between annotations using taboo algorithm. The problem of vague and invisible representation of linear element annotations was solved and the integrity and aesthetics of automatic annotation output were achieved.

Resource allocation for network profit maximization in NOMA-based F-RANs: a game-theoretic approach Research Article

Xueyan CAO, Shi YAN, Hongming ZHANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 10,   Pages 1546-1561 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100341

Abstract:

(NOMA) based s (F-RANs) offer high spectrum efficiency, ultra-low delay, and huge network throughput, and this is made possible by edge computing and communication functions of the fog access points (F-APs). Meanwhile, caching-enabled F-APs are responsible for edge caching and delivery of a large volume of multimedia files during the caching phase, which facilitates further reduction in the transmission energy and burden. The need of the prevailing situation in industry is that in NOMA-based F-RANs, energy-efficient , which consists of (CP) and radio (RRA), is crucial for network performance enhancement. To this end, in this paper, we first characterize an NOMA-based F-RAN in which F-APs of caching capabilities underlaid with the radio remote heads serve user equipments via the NOMA protocol. Then, we formulate a problem for maximizing the defined performance indicator, namely network profit, which takes caching cost, revenue, and energy efficiency into consideration. The NP-hard problem is decomposed into two sub-problems, namely the CP sub-problem and RRA sub-problem. Finally, we propose an iterative method and a Stackelberg game based method to solve them, and numerical results show that the proposed solution can significantly improve network profit compared to some existing schemes in NOMA-based F-RANs.
